Language Education

Korean Education Program

GLC Freshmen are required to submit a Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK) transcript, a certificate from Yonsei University’s Korean Language Institute, or take GLC’s own Korean Language Proficiency Assessment. Based on the test results, GLC classifies students’ Korean language proficiency into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The university then offers a tailored curriculum designed to help students acquire the necessary Korean language skills to successfully engage in undergraduate-level liberal arts and major courses.

English Education Program

Freshmen at GLC are required to submit the results of an externally accredited English proficiency test or take GLC’s own English proficiency diagnostic assessment. Based on the test scores, GLC classifies students’ English skills into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. The university then offers intensive, small-group lectures tailored to each level, taught by native English-speaking professors, over the course of one year.
