Major Overview
This major is designed to develop the potential of students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds, fostering their seamless intercultural communication skills to ultimately produce experts and educators who can actively promote the Korean language and culture worldwide. The curriculum aligns with the principles of the Basic Korean Language Act, allowing students to become certified Korean language instructors. Through Korean Linguistics, students gain a deep understanding of the Korean language, while General Linguistics provides insight into the universal linguistic phenomena. The Korean Language Education emphasizes essential content and strategies for teaching Korean as a second language, and Korean Culture Studies combines cultural knowledge with practical training to prepare students for real-world teaching environments. Our goal is to develop professionals equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, capable of bridging the gap between theory and practice.
