Outline of Major

The Korean Language & Culture Education Major aims to cultivate educators and communication professionals dedicated to promoting Korean language and culture globally. The Korean language track provides a curriculum for training Korean language teachers and interpreters, and the cultural track cultivates the skills of experts in Korean studies and cross-cultural communication. The educational programs for obtaining a Korean language teaching certificate encompass Korean language studies, focusing on linguistic proficiency, general linguistics to explore universal language phenomena, Korean pedagogy for teaching Korean as a second language, cultural studies to deepen understanding of Korean society, and practical teaching experience for real-world classroom adaptation. Moreover, our program provides theoretical knowledge related to Korean culture and equips students with the knowledge necessary for understanding and applying Korean cultural content in various contexts.
